I am amazed by the range of estimates. The Exxon Valdez was 10.8 million gallons. So based on the Wereley average1, we’re looking at about one of those every three or four days. Forever? For the record, it’s not a spill. Spill tracker Thanks to Hugh Stimson for this: http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2010/05/01/us/20100501-oil-spill-tracker.html ↩
I’ve converted to an Android operating system. It’s awesome. It has more than one button at the bottom. I like that.
The leaders of the three major parties in our federal election are all members of anti-gay churches. That is to say, simply, that they officially and explicitly believe that gay behaviour is sinful…
The phrase, “I’m not a joiner” is one that I’ve heard a number of times, spoken by folks who are claiming not to be into joining groups. What is implied, I think, is that they are free thinking individuals and that joining is conforming. And I think they also suggest that conforming is a problem….
Went to a public forum last night to hear about fracking in Northeastern BC. I thought I already knew how bad hydraulic fracturing and shale gas extraction are. But there is nothing quite like having graphs and maps enriched by honest, heartfelt stories, told by real breathing humans…
Yes, this poster is inspired by the commissioned work of Shepard Fairey. It’s a reflection of my hopes and interests this election. By all means, if you’re interested, download, share, copy and reprint this work. The original photo that it’s based on is by Reimy Steinegger. For another poster in a similar vein, check out Bob Preston.

Sherwin,
This is so damn funny and yet, so damn tragic. Two out of the three available seats on by-election night went Conservative. You are going to have to continue with your animation project and get them into every riding. Woe is me about the electorate in general, but thank you for providing some excellent belly laughs.

Hmm. It’s too bad this is what passes as funny these days. I though it was politically incorrect to verbally abuse people who think differantly than you. You are speaking out both side of your mouth.
There is a long and established importance to political satire. And for the record, I’m not simply criticizing Harper because he thinks differently. I’m criticizing Harper because his ideas are wrong and his interests are unethical.
