Equipment donation scam
All they had to do was send some money for packaging and shipping.
I have science colleagues that were recently scammed by email. The scammer claimed she had a bit of science equipment and she was happy to donate it to the lab. This prospective donor was responsive by email and my science friends believed her.1

Of course, they never saw the money or the equipment. It’s a $400 scam.
I’m sure the type of equipment that is “available” depends on who the mark is. This part of the con likely varies widely.
Scams like this are a normal part of doing business these days and no one should feel bad for falling for this.

Anyway. I doubt this is real contact information, however, we thought we might publish it just in case they haven’t burned these accounts yet. If you get contacted by a prospective donor claiming to be Camila Herrada from Manitoba, report the email for phishing:
