The American dollar problem with Hover (.com)
Being invoiced in USD from an office in Toronto is the worst.
I no longer recommend Hover.com as a place to register domain names.
They have a problem.
Even though their headquarters are in Toronto, and even though I’m in BC, the invoices they send me are all in American dollars.
I’m tired of it. I’ve asked for my invoices to be sent to me in CAD a number of times and all I get are boilerplate responses.
The peculiar thing is that they’re a huge company with significant technical engineering know-how. It would not be hard to invoice me in CAD.
Anyway, I’m done. I’ve been moving my domain names away from Hover.
And now that the Trump-Musk problem is coming to a fever pitch, I feel more motivated than ever to move my domains.
